BENEFIT PACKAGE:
Sending organizations provide excellent benefits for team members, making the transition of moving to and working in a foreign country a much smoother and easier task.
- A Network of support. You will be closely supported by agency staff in the US and in your assigned country.
- Raising support. The mission agency home office will handle all receiving, tracking and acknowledgement of tax-deductible donations.
- Mission agency staff will negotiate with schools for favorable terms, salary, and benefits on behalf of team members prior to assigning them to the schools.
- The sending agency will help obtain Alien Resident Visas and Working Permits from your employer.
- Two to five team members will be assigned to the same local church. You will work closely with the church members and help them in outreach activities and English classes.
- Weekly or monthly celebration meetings for team members are provided in each city for refreshing, sharing and worship.
- TESOL and cultural training are provided. All team members have to complete and pass the TESOL curriculum training program and receive a TESOL certificate to assure that they are highly qualified ESL teachers for overseas assignments.
- Mission agencies work with schools to provide health insurance for you. The insurance should be available after completion of your paperwork and other necessary government documentation.
- Local hospitals handle most sicknesses or injuries. However, in case of an emergency, you will be flown to a hospital in your home country (Hawaii or California, if US) within a matter of hours.
- Agencies have strong networks; weekend trips to points of interest are available. Local staff in each country may provide tour arrangements.
- Many schools provide bonus plans for second year services.
- For multi-year commitments, a retirement fund is available for you on the date you move back to your country of origin.
OBLIGATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Agree to a one-year commitment to qualify for working permits.
- Work with and help your host church whenever possible with a servant heart.
