Q. What are the housing or living arrangements?

A. Housing is generally provided at no cost. Specific housing arrangements will vary. Some team members will stay in the churches and some will stay with host families. Others will stay in the rented high-rise apartments specially arranged by sponsoring churches for the team.

All host family selections and living arrangements will be made prior to your arrival. Details are generally worked out during team meetings.

Q. How are the meals prepared?

A. Meals depend upon the housing arrangements. The church may provide the meals, or the team members may do some grocery shopping and prepare their own breakfasts and lunches.

Dinners will be provided by the host family or by the church. Sometimes you may want to cook for yourself, or you may want to eat out in a restaurant. Some churches will arrange for church members to take turns treating you to dinner. For summer assignments, the food budget is prepaid. Meals are provided by the sending organization and the sponsoring churches.

Q. What about local transportation?

A. Most assignments are in cities that have a good transportation infrastructure. In outlying areas you do what the locals do; this is not a problem.
