WHY ARE THERE SO MANY ESL OPPORTUNITIES?
There have been some recent developments that have created an increased demand for teachers. Here are a few
- Many Asian countries require their students to have a greater proficiency in English before entering college. Thus they require ESL studies in lower grades. This has created a big demand for ESL teachers for children.
- Most countries of the world want to have their citizens, particularly their youth speak English for greater participation in world trade.
- World diplomacy requires English.
- Barriers to gaining working permits as a foreigner have been removed for ESL teachers in many countries. Previously, access to real jobs was a circuitous process, but now is straightforward, in recognition of the high demand for ESL teachers.
- Most countries of the world want English from native speakers. Our partner organizations have the ability to accept inquiries from Australia, Canada, US and New Zealand.

WHY ARE YOU WAITING FOR JOY?
The jobs are located in every non-English speaking country and many English speaking countries worldwide. However, in non-English speaking countries, only about 80 countries can provide the job opportunities and work conditions that attract English speakers. With your experience in the easier countries, you may want to move on in adventure to more difficult places. English speaking countries require ESL teachers to fulfill the demand in their country created by the influx of visiting students enrolling in English language programs.

THE BIG PICTURE
About 40% or 8,000 of the ESL jobs worldwide are located in Asia. The majority of these are in China, Taiwan and Japan.
In Europe, about 25% of world jobs or 5,000, are split evenly between the former West and East Europe. In Latin America, some 5,000 jobs are available from Mexico to Chile and Argentina. Mexico presently offers about half of the jobs in Latin America. The Middle East and Africa present some 10% or 2,000 of worldwide jobs. Africa offers few jobs with conditions acceptable to secular English speakers.
