Q. Is my international airfare and local transportation included?
A. Generally the employers do not pay airfare. However,
  • For Taiwan and Japan:
    • For positions where you provide or raise full support, the airfare will be free and provided by the receiving church.
    • For positions where you provide no support or partial support, half of the round trip airfare will be reimbursed by either your assigned school or church.
  • For China:
    • "Jobs" in China are true missionary assignments. In China you earn the prevailing wage, which is small.
    • The local church cannot afford the salary or the airfare, so that is generally raised by the ESL teacher. However, the Chinese people are wonderful and appreciative, thus the rewards are great in this life and the next.

SUMMER ASSIGNMENTS:

Q. Who pays for airfare for a summer assignment?
A. Generally, this cost is covered in the fee to participate in the summer teaching assignment.

Q. How are the airline tickets purchased?
A. Usually the sending organization will purchase the tickets late spring; team members often travel on the same flight.
